What is MPLADS?

MPLADS stands for Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme. It enables MPs to recommend developmental work in their constituencies with an emphasis on creating durable community assets based on locally felt needs. Each MP receives ₹5 crore per year to spend on development projects.
