In a display of bureaucratic necromancy, Bindeshwar Rai of Muzaffarpur found himself 'officially deceased' in the government's Management Information System. Despite appearing in person—breathing and complaining—officials insisted his pension could only be restored if he provided a life certificate, a document the system ironically refuses to process because it doesn't accept signatures from the 'afterlife'. The state is currently on a drive to recover money from 200,000 such 'ghosts' who had the audacity to continue existing after their digital deletion.
