What happened
A 1,600 mm master water pipeline in Gurugram decided to 'shrink' due to the extreme cold, causing its joints to loosen and cutting off water to dozens of sectors. When officials tried to fix it, the repair work failed because of 'backflow,' proving that even the water didn't want to deal with the Haryana winter.
