The odd part

India dismisses its low ranking in the 2026 World Happiness Report, arguing that Western scientists fail to understand the spiritual bliss of a 4-hour traffic jam.

What happened

After the 2026 World Happiness Report ranked India lower than several neighboring countries currently facing total economic collapse, officials have questioned the methodology. The government argued that the index ignores 'sovereign happiness indicators' such as the thrill of winning an argument on a family WhatsApp group or the patriotic satisfaction of standing in a queue for a document that was supposed to be digitized in 2015.
