The odd part

The Centre assures the Supreme Court that its Fact-Checking Unit won't curb satire, provided your jokes are verified as 'Funny' by a committee of bureaucrats who haven't smiled since the 1990s.

What happened

During a Supreme Court hearing regarding the IT Rules, the government clarified that its Fact-Checking Unit (FCU) is not meant to suppress humor or criticism. Legal experts noted that this means satire is perfectly safe in India, as long as it doesn't involve facts that the government finds 'misleading.' Citizens are encouraged to keep joking, provided they attach a 50-page legal disclaimer and a 'No Offence Intended' certificate issued by the Press Information Bureau.
