What happened
The PSC ran a recruitment exam for three Chief-level posts at Kerala's State Planning Board, drawing over 200 candidates, then it emerged, only after a candidate complained to the Kerala Administrative Tribunal, that examiners had simply never assessed answers to 10 questions across the scripts. Undeterred, the PSC published its rank lists and appointed two people to two of the three posts regardless. Weeks later the promised re-evaluation still hasn't started, the state government is now debating whether it's even legally allowed to let its own Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau investigate the PSC, and the probe may widen to cover selections for a Deputy Superintendent of Police, a Law College Assistant Professor, and half a dozen other posts. Turns out 'Chief-level' was mostly a state of mind.
