What happened
Chief Minister Lalduhoma released the Anti-Corruption Bureau's first-ever Annual Report at the CM's Conference Hall in Aizawl, sixteen years after the Bureau was set up. The numbers inside it: 17 corruption complaints received in 2025-26, 15 sent for preliminary enquiry, and just 6 regular cases actually registered, alongside 7 old cases finally disposed of. Lalduhoma called corruption 'one of the biggest obstacles to good governance,' and the ACB Director promised a 'zero-tolerance approach.' Zoomed out, the Bureau's lifetime tally is 112 convictions in 35 cases over 16 years — a conviction rate that suggests the report itself was overdue for an audit.
