A sub-inspector assigned to provide three-layer VIP security for the Chief Minister's visit was found intoxicated, partially undressed, and rolling on the ground at a completely different location, repeatedly asking "Where am I standing?" The answer, apparently, was "not at your post."
Sub-Inspector Chaube Singh of Fugana police station was assigned VIP security duty in the Khalapar police station area for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's program in Muzaffarnagar on April 14. Instead of reporting to his designated security post within the event's claimed three-layer security perimeter, Singh was discovered near the family compound inside Tehsil Sadar premises — intoxicated, partially undressed, and rolling on the ground. A viral video shows him repeatedly asking "Where am I standing?" — a question his superiors were also asking, since he was supposed to be standing somewhere else entirely. Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma immediately suspended him for indiscipline and launched a departmental inquiry into how a man who couldn't locate himself was entrusted with locating threats to the state's most protected person.
