The odd part
The High Court rules that fighting crime is not a valid distraction from knowing how many luxury flats you own.
What happened
A group of 50 sub-inspectors in Odisha attempted to pioneer a new legal defense: 'The Infinite Fieldwork Clause.' They argued that they were so preoccupied with maintaining law and order that they simply couldn't find the time to fill out mandatory property declaration forms for two years. The High Court, unimpressed by this display of workaholism, reminded the officers that transparency isn't an 'optional side-quest' and quashed a lenient lower order that allowed the delay, much to the heartbreak of overworked accountants everywhere.
