What happened
On June 6, 2026, M. Dana Kishore, Special Chief Secretary for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, issued an official memo about Telangana's 'Prajapalana-Pragati Pranaalika' governance drive to every district collector in the state — on letterhead reading 'Government of Andhra Pradesh.' It wasn't a one-off: on May 17, Buildings Chief Engineer G. Rajeshwar Reddy sent out a letter about construction of Hyderabad's new High Court complex on the same outdated AP letterhead. Telangana became a separate state on June 2, 2014. Twelve years, several administrations, and presumably several stationery reorders later, senior IAS officers and engineers in Panchayat Raj and Roads & Buildings departments are still reaching for templates that predate the bifurcation. Social media users called it emblematic of how little care goes into the paperwork of a state that fought hard to exist.
