What happened
Cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal — also the sitting MLA for Narendra Nagar — walked into the local polling station during the municipal elections while votes were actively being cast. Election rules strictly prohibit anyone other than voters, polling officers, and authorized observers from entering during polling hours. UKD leader Pramila Rawat confronted him on camera, told him he had no right to be inside, and physically positioned herself at the entrance. Uniyal allegedly became aggressive; Congress filed a formal complaint with the Election Commission alleging violation of democratic norms and intimidation of women officials. The Election Commission of India, which is responsible for enforcing these rules, sits within the same administrative ecosystem as the state cabinet minister who was standing inside the booth. The video has been circulating on social media. The election continued.
