What the publisher changed

  • 2019: The index was redesigned in 2019 after moving from the World Economic Forum to the Portulans Institute.

Coverage

India only; 121-134 economies, seven editions from 2019, the first year of the redesigned index.

Limitations

The index only exists in this form since the 2019 redesign, so 2019 is the earliest edition there is; the pre-2019 Networked Readiness Index was a different measure published by the World Economic Forum and is deliberately excluded. The economy count moves between editions, from 134 down to 127, so part of any rank change reflects a different field. The 2022 and 2023 country reports publish a rank but no extractable score.
