IMD World Competitiveness Ranking
How well an economy manages its resources to sustain long-term value creation, across economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure. Roughly a third of the input is an executive opinion survey.

Coverage
India only. 69 economies in 2025 and 67 in 2024; the two most recent editions are stored.
Limitations
IMD sells the underlying data, so only the headline rank is openly available and no score is stored before 2026. The field grew from 59 economies to 70 over this period, which moves ranks on its own. Economy counts before 2026 are the commonly cited figures rather than values confirmed against an IMD primary source, so a percentile from an early year is approximate. IMD also publishes separate digital competitiveness and talent rankings, and factor sub-rankings within this one, which are frequently mistaken for the overall rank. A large share of the input is executive opinion rather than measurement.
